Property Underwriting Technician

About the role

Sompo is seeking a Property Underwriting Technician to support its Property Underwriting team in Bermuda. The role involves assisting underwriters throughout the policy lifecycle, from quoting to post‑bind processing, while ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, maintain, and validate submission data for new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy of policy records.
• Create and organize underwriting files, coordinate with brokers and internal underwriters to obtain required documentation, and track outstanding action items.
• Generate loss information and support rating model preparation for underwriting reviews and renewals.
• Assist with premium payment tracking, calendar management, and client meeting coordination.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in P&C insurance.
• Strong computer skills with high attention to detail and a process‑driven approach.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive attitude toward learning.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
