Actuarial Associate

About the role

KuvareKuvare Services Bermuda Ltd. (KSB) is seeking an Actuarial Associate to support its growing asset‑intensive life and annuity reinsurance business. The role will be based in Bermuda and will work closely with risk, finance and investment teams to deliver accurate and timely actuarial analysis for financial and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new models, assumptions, methodology and improve processes through automation.
• Produce, analyse and explain quarterly and year‑end Bermuda EBS Technical Provisions and BSCR, supporting regulatory submissions to the BMA.
• Implement asset modelling processes for ALM models, covering traditional, structured and private assets.
• Conduct actual‑to‑expected experience analysis, monitor in‑force treaties and develop new assumptions.
• Support year‑end GAAP audit and Approved Actuary processes by providing data and analysis.
• Produce and analyse monthly reinsurance settlements for third‑party cedants.
• Own critical deliverables within specific workstreams and review/validate other actuarial activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management or a related field.
• ASA designation or equivalent with strong exam progression; pursuit of further qualifications such as CFA is supported.
• 3–5 years of actuarial experience in life/annuity (re)insurance or consulting.
• Experience with life valuation frameworks (e.g., Bermuda EBS, US GAAP, US Statutory) is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or R for actuarial modelling.
• Experience with actuarial software.
• Knowledge of life valuation frameworks and asset‑liability modelling.
• Familiarity with Bermuda EBS, US GAAP and US Statutory accounting principles.
• Understanding of annuity products and reinsurance settlements.
