Actuary – Valuation & Reserving (Bermuda/US GAAP)

About the role

Based in Bermuda, the Actuary will join the actuarial team reporting to the Valuation Actuary. The role focuses on developing and maintaining actuarial models for liability valuation and reserving under the Bermuda EBS framework and US GAAP, supporting the company’s financial reporting and planning processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and integrate actuarial valuation models for quarterly and year‑end reporting under Bermuda EBS and US GAAP.
• Design, document and govern the valuation process, ensuring model controls and validation.
• Provide actuarial support to Investment, Risk and Asset‑Liability Management functions.
• Assist the multi‑year financial planning process and support the Approved Actuary and external auditors.
• Facilitate smooth transition of pricing models into the corporate model framework.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in life and annuity insurance or reinsurance.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
• Strong knowledge of US life and annuity product designs and Bermuda solvency framework.
• Proven ability to prioritize workload and work collaboratively across corporate functions.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MG‑ALFA actuarial modeling software.
• Hands‑on experience with actuarial modeling, model governance and validation.
• In‑depth understanding of US GAAP reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with the Bermuda EBS regulatory framework.
