Architectural Technologist

About the role

OBMI is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join its Bermuda studio. You will be responsible for the technical development of high‑end residential, hospitality, commercial and healthcare projects, ensuring designs meet local regulations and international model codes.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and coordinate detailed design documentation throughout all project phases.
• Verify compliance with building regulations, planning legislation and accessibility standards.
• Apply international model codes (IBC, IRC, ANSI A117.1, ADA, NFPA) to design solutions.
• Prepare technical drawings for permitting and construction, and manage their hand‑over.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to internal standards, workflows and best‑practice documentation.
• Support marketing and business‑development activities in the Bermuda market.

Required profile

• Accredited degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Building Studies.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduate experience in architectural detailing and technical coordination.
• Strong knowledge of building structures, materials and design detailing.
• Ability to work collaboratively across sectors and project scales.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Enscape or similar rendering platforms.
• Competence with MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite for presentations.
• Working knowledge of IBC, IRC, ANSI A117.1, ADA and NFPA codes.
