Assistant Director, Housekeeping

About the role

The Assistant Director, Housekeeping supports the Executive Housekeeper in overseeing the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments at Fairmont Southampton. This senior role ensures that guest rooms, suites, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces meet the brand’s luxury standards while driving operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, offices and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Oversee in‑house laundry operations and coordinate any contracted laundry services.
• Implement and enforce cleaning, laundry and hygiene procedures in line with Fairmont brand standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, public areas and laundry facilities to ensure quality control.
• Support team leadership by mentoring, training and motivating housekeeping staff.
• Promote safety, productivity and operational efficiency across the department.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housekeeping management within a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
