Chief Compliance Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Chief Compliance Officer to join our senior leadership team and own the firm’s compliance, risk management, AML/ATF, sanctions, and regulatory governance framework. The role serves as the primary bridge between commercial strategy and regulatory standards, interacting directly with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and guiding the board through complex, multi‑jurisdictional compliance landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and maintain a robust enterprise risk and compliance framework aligned with BMA expectations and international best practices.
• Act as the primary liaison for regulators, managing audits, inspections, and ongoing regulatory dialogue.
• Advise the Board and senior executives on corporate governance, FATCA/CRS, Economic Substance, and beneficial ownership frameworks.
• Identify emerging regulatory developments and provide commercial, practical solutions to mitigate risk while supporting growth.
• Drive a culture of compliance, overseeing day‑to‑day AML/ATF, sanctions monitoring, and internal control operations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive compliance, risk, and regulatory experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive leadership role.
• Proven track record in a highly regulated environment such as an offshore law firm, trust company, fund administrator, bank, or fiduciary services provider.
• Demonstrated expertise in AML/ATF, sanctions, corporate governance, economic substance, and multi‑jurisdictional compliance frameworks, with direct BMA or equivalent regulator engagement.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic, and able to translate complex regulations into actionable business processes.
• Willingness to relocate to Bermuda.
