Claims Operations Lead

About the role

The Claims Operations Lead will oversee the operational management of claims for Lancashire in Bermuda, ensuring efficient service delivery and alignment with the Group’s claims strategy and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the claims function to deliver the Group claim strategy.
• Maintain high performance of the claims workflow system and drive improvements.
• Produce periodic data and management information, developing Power BI dashboards to meet functional demands.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk and audit teams to align claims operations with business growth.
• Manage delegated claims arrangements, including outsourcing and DCA oversight.
• Monitor data quality, reconciliation, and ensure compliance with SLA and KPI targets.
• Lead catastrophe response reporting and maintain procedural documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in claims operations within the reinsurance industry.
• University degree or professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, AIC, CPCU) preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance principles and markets.
• Excellent numeracy, analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work under pressure both independently and in a team.
