Director - Restructuring & Insolvency

About the role

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director with extensive experience in restructuring advisory and insolvency to lead a diverse portfolio of high‑profile engagements. Reporting directly to Managing Directors, you will manage cases from appointment through to closure, including accelerated M&A transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Administer day‑to‑day operations of a mixed case portfolio, ensuring timely delivery of deliverables.
• Lead multi‑stakeholder, often cross‑border restructuring and insolvency assignments.
• Conduct IBRs, short‑term cash‑flow and capital‑structure analyses.
• Drive business development by leveraging networks, attending events, and creating client pitches and proposals.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with JIEB or CPI certification.
• Significant experience within the insolvency/restructuring team of a Big 4 or comparable large professional services firm.
• Proven track record of managing a mixed case portfolio and supervising staff.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of insolvency legislation, case law, SIPs and regulator guidance.
