Junior Data Engineering Consultant

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious Junior Data Engineering Consultant to join a leading data consulting and business intelligence firm. You will work alongside senior consultants, supporting the design, development and delivery of data pipelines, warehouses, and analytics solutions for financial, insurance and government clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, testing, deploying and supporting data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, views, data transformations and validation scripts.
• Develop solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, SSAS, SSIS, Power BI, Azure data services and Microsoft Fabric.
• Learn and apply the TimeXtender Data Platform to automate data ingestion, transformation and deployment.
• Extract, cleanse, reconcile and migrate historical client data into the INTX insurance platform and support related system integrations.
• Create and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and analytical datasets.
• Document data mappings, technical specifications, test scripts and deployment records.
• Investigate data‑quality issues, support production deployments and provide ongoing client support.
• Participate in requirements‑gathering sessions, workshops, demos and project meetings.

Required profile

• Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information systems, data analytics or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft data technologies, Power BI, Azure or other Microsoft cloud services.
• Basic knowledge of a programming language such as Python or SQL and familiarity with relational databases.
• Understanding of data integration and data‑warehousing concepts.
