Lead Accountant – Celebrity River Cruises Bermuda

About the role

Lead the accounting function for Celebrity River Cruises’ Bermuda entity while supporting the Basel office, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and compliance across jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for Bermuda operations and support accounting activities for the Basel office.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals and balance‑sheet substantiation.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and compliance requirements for both Bermuda and Swiss entities.
• Oversee vendor payments, banking administration and cash‑management activities.
• Lead annual audit planning, act as primary liaison with external auditors and ensure timely audit completion.
• Develop scalable accounting processes, drive continuous‑improvement initiatives and support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Partner with HR, Payroll, Treasury, Legal and Tax teams on entity setup, employee onboarding and ongoing compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (required).
• Professional designation such as CPA, ACCA or CA (preferred).
• 6‑8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in international or multi‑jurisdictional environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audits, internal controls and statutory compliance.
• Experience supporting entities in multiple legal jurisdictions, with exposure to the cruise, hospitality or travel industry considered a plus.
