North American Property Broker

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for placing and servicing North American property insurance business. You will build strong relationships with US retail/wholesale brokers and Bermuda markets, delivering tailored solutions for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deepen relationships with US retail/wholesale brokers and Bermuda capacity providers to generate new business.
• Act as primary point of contact for North American clients, ensuring high‑level service and responsiveness.
• Review risk submissions, structure compliant solutions, and lead the end‑to‑end placement process from submission to binding.
• Secure optimal terms, conditions and pricing, and service accounts throughout their lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate records of placements, negotiations and client interactions in line with internal procedures.
• Adhere to firm policies, participate in compliance training, audits and regulatory reviews.

Required profile

• Significant experience placing North American property business in the London or Bermuda market with established client and carrier relationships.
• Strong understanding of property programme structures, policy wordings and coverage terms.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence brokers and markets.
• Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines with strong personal organisation.
• Professional qualifications such as ACII, CPCU or equivalent.
• Demonstrates BMS values: client‑first, teamwork, problem‑solving, attention to detail.
