About the role
Equitable is seeking a Regulatory Reporting Senior Accountant to support the financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory requirements of its reinsurance business. Reporting to the Bermuda Chief Accounting Officer, you will work closely with Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Investments, and Reinsurance teams in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reporting for Bermuda Statutory (BSTAT), Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS), and U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare, reconcile, and analyze BSCR schedules in line with Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulations.
- Lead daily reinsurance accounting activities, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, management accounts, settlement statements, and regulatory filings.
- Interpret and account for complex reinsurance arrangements such as coinsurance, funds withheld, and modified coinsurance (ModCo) transactions.
- Implement and transition new reinsurance transactions from setup through ongoing execution.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting processes to ensure SOX, regulatory, and accounting compliance.
- Partner with internal and external auditors, providing documentation, schedules, and analyses.
- Design and maintain process documentation, workflows, and process maps to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Investments, Risk Management, and Reinsurance Administration to support strategic objectives.
- Identify and drive opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen controls, and improve reporting processes.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, business transformation, technology implementations, and special projects.
Required profile
- Strong technical expertise in accounting and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across multiple finance functions.
- Passion for accurate reporting, process improvement, and operational excellence.
- Experience with reinsurance accounting and complex transaction analysis.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective internal controls and SOX compliance.

What we offer
- Hybrid work schedule (2–3 days on‑site per week).
- Competitive base salary range $91,289 – $140,000.
- Performance‑based compensation including spot bonuses.
