Residential Care Worker – Hamilton, Bermuda

About the role

The Residential Care Worker provides compassionate support to residents of the Harbour Light facility in Hamilton, Bermuda. Working within The Salvation Army’s values of hope, service, dignity and stewardship, you will help residents with daily routines, ensure their safety, and facilitate their participation in internal and external activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living tasks, personal care and light domestic duties.
• Conduct regular room checks, client counts and general monitoring to ensure safety.
• Operate building safety systems such as alarms, panic buttons and door security as required.
• Oversee the Harbour Light building’s security and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure residents attend scheduled meetings, appointments and community events.
• Escort and supervise residents during external outings, events and functions.
• Provide continuous support throughout each shift, responding to resident needs promptly.
• Perform modest financial transactions and make small program purchases in line with Salvation Army policies.
• Collaborate with support staff, administration, counseling teams, volunteers and external agencies as needed.

• Demonstrates sensitivity to the mission, goals and values of The Salvation Army.
• Ability to interact respectfully with residents, staff, volunteers and community partners.
• Strong awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a caring team.
