Residential Care Worker – Hamilton, Bermuda

About the role

The Salvation Army is seeking a compassionate Residential Care Worker to support residents at the Harbour Light facility in Hamilton, Bermuda. You will assist with daily routines, ensure safety, and help residents engage in internal and external activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, domestic duties, and daily schedules.
• Perform regular room checks, client counts, and general monitoring.
• Use building safety alarms, panic buttons, and door security as required.
• Oversee the Harbour Light building’s safety and security procedures.
• Escort and supervise residents for external events, meetings, and functions.
• Document financial transactions, small purchases, and donations according to Salvation Army policies.
• Collaborate with support staff, administration, and counseling teams.
• Provide coverage and support throughout the entire shift and perform any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• Demonstrated sensitivity to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
• Ability to work in a residential care environment on a casual basis.
• Strong attention to safety, documentation, and client wellbeing.
• Willingness to interact respectfully with residents, staff, and external partners.

Required skills

• Basic record‑keeping and documentation.
• Handling of small financial transactions in line with organizational policies.
• Use of safety alarm systems and emergency procedures.
