About the role
The Senior Financial Accountant supports the financial integrity of the organization through general ledger maintenance, treasury management, bank and intercompany reconciliations, and the preparation of accurate financial information. The role is central to the monthly and quarterly close process, cash management, financial controls, banking administration, expense oversight, and collateral management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare journals, reconciliations and month‑end close activities while maintaining GL integrity.
- Monitor cash positions, liquidity, funding requirements and produce cash‑flow forecasts and treasury reports.
- Oversee payment processing, accounts payable and expense management, ensuring proper authorisation and controls.
- Manage bank account administration, banking platforms, KYC requests and banking mandates.
- Support a strong financial control environment, compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, and assist audit activities.
- Contribute to finance transformation, automation initiatives and system enhancements, including testing new technologies.
- Assist with solvency, capital management, strategic finance initiatives and ad‑hoc projects such as M&A.
Required profile
- Bermudian or spouse of a Bermudian.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Part‑qualified or working toward a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, CMA).
- Minimum 3 years experience in financial accounting, treasury or general ledger, preferably in (re)insurance.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with financial analysis functions.
- Experience with month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations, multi‑currency transactions and bank reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, treasury operations and payment controls.
