Senior Underwriting Operations Technician

About the role

The Senior Underwriting Operations Technician will be based in Chaucer's Bermuda office and report dotted‑line to the Operations Business Partnering team in London. This senior‑level position supports underwriting and operations teams by ensuring accurate data capture, processing, and reporting across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor dedicated mailbox and respond to queries within SLA/KPI targets.
• Perform daybook entries, wizard updates, and attach slips in the main workflow system.
• Enrich data, verify Charisma entries, investigate anomalies and report on quality.
• Coordinate exception reports, resolve issues using RCAs and maintain policy history.
• Prepare pricing models, weekly reports and assist with UAT as required.
• Analyse estimated vs. reported premium, losses and commissions; identify variances and trends.
• Liaise with brokers, underwriters and treasury on letters of credit and collateral verification.
• Support compliance requirements, business partner procedure manuals and ad‑hoc requests from senior operations leaders.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in insurance operations or underwriting support.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to spot anomalies and drive process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills for liaison with internal teams and external partners.
