Shift Building Operator – Building Engineer (Plumber)

About the role

Join Fairmont Southampton’s Engineering & Facility Operations team as a Shift Building Operator – Building Engineer (Plumber). You will ensure the hotel’s plumbing infrastructure operates safely and efficiently, supporting guest comfort and overall building performance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and walkthroughs of plumbing systems and related facilities.
• Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, and associated equipment.
• Service pumps, valves, water heaters, filtration units, and wastewater infrastructure.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and system failures.
• Diagnose faults and execute routine, urgent, and emergency repairs promptly.
• Support broader building systems as needed and report major issues to supervisory staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with plumbing systems in a commercial or hospitality environment.
• Ability to work shift schedules and respond to emergency situations.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.

Required skills

• Installation and repair of water supply and drainage systems.
• Maintenance of pumps, valves, water heaters, and filtration equipment.
• Knowledge of wastewater infrastructure and preventative maintenance practices.
