Shift Building Operator – Kitchen & Refrigeration Equipment

About the role

Join Fairmont Southampton’s Engineering & Facility Operations team as a Shift Building Operator focused on kitchen and refrigeration equipment. You will ensure safe, efficient operation and maintenance of all commercial kitchen appliances and refrigeration systems during your shift, supporting the hotel’s food‑service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and walkthroughs of kitchen, refrigeration, and plant areas.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, dishwashers, grills, and steamers.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems, including walk‑in coolers and freezers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to emergency equipment failures.
• Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Provide timely service to internal teams and guests to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Experience with commercial kitchen and refrigeration equipment maintenance.
• Ability to work independently on shift and respond quickly to issues.
• Strong commitment to safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Effective communication with hotel staff and guests.
