Software Engineer – Development & Innovation

About the role

The Software Engineer will join a global team at Light & Wonder, creating and implementing technology for internal products and customer‑centric innovation. You will design, develop, test, and integrate software solutions while collaborating across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative features and functionality for Light & Wonder products, utilities, and tools.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to modernize existing offerings.
• Refactor, improve, and optimize the existing code base.
• Design and build shared libraries for use across Light & Wonder products.
• Apply best coding practices, including secure coding, test‑driven development, and continuous integration.
• Provide prompt bug resolution using strong debugging skills.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Analytical mindset with solid problem‑solving skills.
• Gaming industry experience is a plus but not required.

• Database architecture knowledge
• Proficiency with IDEs, compilers, debuggers, profilers, and version control systems
• SQL query writing (preferred)

• Development tools such as Visual Studio, Perforce, Git, Jira
