Underwriting Assistant - Mortgage Indemnity

About the role

The Underwriting Assistant will support the Mortgage Indemnity underwriting team, ensuring efficient administration, accurate data handling and high‑quality service to brokers and clients. This role is central to maintaining smooth underwriting processes and delivering timely information to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑underwriting and rating support to underwriters and other staff.
• Enter, verify and scan risk documentation into Beazley systems within agreed service levels.
• Photocopy, log, file, archive and scan quotes, declinatures and related documents.
• Interact with Claims, Finance, Compliance, Management Services and other underwriting teams on portfolio‑related matters.
• Produce accurate management information, ad‑hoc reports, presentations and marketing literature for senior managers and underwriters.
• Deliver professional service to brokers via in‑person, email and telephone communication, handling queries promptly.
• Attend client meetings as required and support other underwriting assistants to meet quality targets.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with underwriters, brokers, coverholders and internal teams.
• Adherence to Beazley’s core values, compliance policies and regulatory standards (PRA, FCA Conduct Rules).
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training on policies, risk and compliance.
