General Maintenance Technician / Special Projects

About the role

The General Maintenance Technician / Special Projects will join the engineering team at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda’s premier luxury urban resort. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will ensure the hotel’s facilities operate smoothly and safely while delivering proactive guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests for guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house using the work‑order system.
• Perform a wide range of repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, painting, and masonry.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems, documenting all work accurately.
• Conduct regular inspections of interior and exterior areas, addressing safety concerns and reporting faults.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
• Participate in emergency response, hotel committees, and community events as a brand ambassador.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in general facilities maintenance; hospitality experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification or vocational training is an asset.
• Proven hands‑on ability with basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Fluent communication in English (verbal and written) and a valid driver’s licence considered an asset.
