Senior Associate – Flow Reinsurance

About the role

Athene is seeking a Senior Associate to support its flow reinsurance business. Reporting to the AVP, you will manage existing client relationships, drive new business opportunities, and contribute to all phases of reinsurance transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage third‑party reinsurance relationships, discuss industry trends, rate setting, and new opportunities.
• Research and evaluate potential new markets, companies, and products for reinsurance.
• Collaborate with deal leads and pricing teams to analyze due‑diligence material, build pricing models, and produce indicative quotes.
• Support transaction processes from target identification through closing and post‑close management.
• Participate in client meetings to understand reinsurance needs and propose solutions.
• Lead the creation of product and treaty summaries for new deals, highlighting actuarial and operational terms.
• Assist with additional department projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a quantitative field with a Fellow qualification from a recognized actuarial body or a CFA designation.
• Minimum six years of experience in life insurance/reinsurance or investment banking.
• Strong understanding of insurance liabilities, including fixed‑rate and indexed annuities.
• Proven stakeholder‑management and client‑facing experience.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT to enhance productivity and analysis.
