Technical Pilot

About the role

BermudAir is looking for a knowledgeable, analytical, and safety‑focused Technical Pilot to support the Chief Pilot and Head of Flight Operations. The role bridges Flight Operations and the Technical Department, ensuring aircraft performance tools, documentation, and processes remain safe, effective, and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an acceptable means of aircraft performance planning and manage its use by flight crews and dispatch.
• Assist the Head of Flight Operations with supervision and management of fleet Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs).
• Act as the primary interface between Flight Operations and Technical for MEL development and customisation.
• Liaise with the Technical Department to obtain required data and provide operational information for safe, efficient flights.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the Chief Pilot and flight crews.
• Support certification and operational introduction of new aircraft.
• Offer technical expertise for flight‑safety investigations and accident/incident analysis.
• Oversee and coordinate work of other Technical Pilots where applicable.

Required profile

• ATPL or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft operational standards and technical documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of the applicable sections of the OTARs and the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order.
• Sound knowledge of aircraft performance planning and its operational application.
• Familiarity with MEL development, customisation and operational use.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Required skills

• ATPL (or equivalent) certification.
• Aircraft performance planning expertise.
• Minimum Equipment List (MEL) development and customisation.
• Knowledge of OTARs and Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order.
• Proficiency with Company Operations Manuals and related technical documentation.
