Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will support HSBC Bermuda in creating new client relationships and expanding existing ones across the asset‑management franchise. The role combines market outreach, product promotion and cross‑selling with internal partners to drive revenue and asset growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.
• Communicate new products, propositions and market information to customers.
• Support distribution channel strategies and contribute to revenue targets.
• Collaborate with relationship managers and product specialists to maximise cross‑selling.
• Participate in events and initiatives to generate leads and promote the division.
• Conduct credit and customer due‑diligence reviews to protect the bank’s risk profile.
• Drive asset‑management sales within HSBC Bermuda and respond to client enquiries.
• Maintain client databases, call reports and analyse business‑development statistics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in new‑business development, cross‑selling and investment products.
• Strong knowledge of asset‑management products such as fixed income, equity, emerging‑market debt and alternative strategies.
• Familiarity with banking practices, product design, market research and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of Bermuda’s insurance and captive‑insurance landscape is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, influence decisions and manage multiple initiatives.
