Staff Housing Caretaker – Residential Maintenance

About the role

Fairmont Southampton is seeking a dedicated Staff Housing Caretaker to maintain the resort’s residential housing complexes and associated facilities. Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Facility Operations, you will ensure that staff housing is safe, functional, and presented to the highest standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs across housing units and common areas.
• Troubleshoot and address basic plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, and fixture repairs.
• Handle simple electrical tasks including light fitting replacements and switch repairs.
• Conduct routine checks, cleaning, and filter changes on air‑conditioning units.
• Coordinate specialized work (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) with qualified contractors and technicians.
• Support capital projects and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and present a high‑quality living environment for residents.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general building maintenance or a similar caretaker role.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a hospitality setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Good communication skills for liaising with residents and external service providers.
