Assistant Vice President, Fund Accounting

About the role

Artex is seeking an Assistant Vice President to lead day‑to‑day fund administration, deliver high‑quality service to a portfolio of clients, and support the growth of the fund accounting team. Reporting to the SVP, Head of ILS Fund Accounting, you will be the primary contact for clients and oversee fund launches, NAV calculations, and audit coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of fund clients, managing relationships and addressing queries.
• Oversee senior fund accountants, allocate workload, and train new and existing staff on processes.
• Vet offering documents and service agreements, and manage fund launches and implementation for new clients.
• Calculate and review net asset values, including complex performance fee calculations and portfolio processing.
• Prepare and review accounting for reinsurance companies and ILS funds, and produce financial statements with footnotes and supporting schedules.
• Coordinate audit processes and ensure timely resolution of investor or client issues.

Required profile

• University degree in accounting or a related financial discipline.
• International accounting designation (CPA, ACA, etc.) with at least 8 years post‑qualification experience in hedge fund administration or senior audit roles.
• Experience with investment funds that include ILS strategies is preferred.
• Proven ability to train and develop junior staff and meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards.
• Expertise in investment accounting and hedge‑fund performance fee calculations.
• Understanding of complex investment securities, including options, futures and other derivatives.
• Ability to prepare detailed financial statements and supporting schedules.
