Credit Manager – Hotel Finance

About the role
The Credit Manager reports to the Director of Finance and leads the development, implementation and management of credit policies for Fairmont Southampton. This role evaluates credit applications, sets limits, monitors account activity and works closely with sales and marketing to align credit decisions with the hotel’s revenue goals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement and maintain credit policies in line with Accor standards and conduct ongoing risk assessments.
- Approve credit applications, set and review customer credit limits, and ensure decisions support financial objectives.
- Oversee accounts‑receivable functions, including ledger posting, aging reports, group and corporate billing, and month‑end AR reporting.
- Lead collection activities, resolve billing disputes, and minimise bad‑debt exposure through proactive follow‑up.
- Prepare regular credit and AR performance reports, support forecasting, budgeting and bad‑debt provisioning.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Events and Front Office to structure appropriate credit arrangements for groups and corporate clients.
- Supervise and develop the Credit/AR team, managing performance, training and resource allocation.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of experience in credit management, accounts receivable and financial management, preferably within a hotel finance team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Strong analytical, numerical and financial reasoning abilities with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
