Freelance Network Engineer (L2 Field)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced L2 Network Field Engineer to provide on‑site support for multiple client locations. This freelance position is ideal for a hands‑on troubleshooter who enjoys solving real‑world network challenges in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 2 on‑site network support, including break/fix, troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Install, configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi solutions.
• Support LAN/WAN environments across enterprise sites.
• Perform rack‑and‑stack, patching, structured cabling and hardware swaps.
• Assist with network upgrades, migrations and refresh projects.
• Collaborate closely with remote NOC and L3 teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in L2 network support and field engineering.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing and switching.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper Networks, Fortinet or Aruba Networks equipment.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and own personal toolkit and transport.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA are preferred.
