AVP Actuarial – Senior Actuarial & Financial Management Role

About the role

The AVP, Actuarial is a senior actuarial and financial management position within a global life insurance group. The role partners with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Investments and senior leadership to drive valuation, reporting, forecasting and strategic analysis across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support actuarial valuation, reserve calculations, and financial reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain actuarial and financial projection models, forecasts, budgets and management reports.
• Conduct experience studies, analyse results and provide actionable insights for data‑driven decision‑making.
• Monitor business performance, analyse key drivers and variances.
• Support capital, solvency and collateral management activities and reporting.
• Drive automation and process improvements using actuarial and analytical tools.
• Participate in acquisitions, reinsurance transactions, due diligence and integration activities.
• Assist with regulatory, auditor and management reporting requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, stakeholder management and leadership support across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
• FSA, FIA or equivalent actuarial qualification.
• Minimum of 7 years of life (re)insurance experience, including valuation, financial reporting and modelling.
• Strong understanding of the Bermuda Solvency Regime or comparable solvency frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, Canadian IFRS).
• Experience with automation and process improvement, preferably using Python or Databricks.
