General Maintenance Technician – Luxury Resort

About the role

An established luxury resort in Bermuda is looking for an experienced General Maintenance Technician to join its Engineering team. This is a hands‑on, multi‑skilled position for a strong technical all‑rounder who is comfortable working across electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general resort maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems across guest rooms, public areas, residences, villas and back‑of‑house facilities
• Carrying out routine electrical repairs and maintenance safely and to a high standard
• Completing plumbing repairs including leaks, blockages, toilets, sinks, showers and other fixtures
• Troubleshooting basic pumps, valves, pools and water systems
• Carrying out preventive maintenance and inspections across resort equipment and facilities
• Supporting the maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment and general building services
• Responding promptly and discreetly to guestroom maintenance requests
• Diagnosing faults and finding practical solutions to day‑to‑day engineering issues
• Supporting larger repairs, engineering projects and general property maintenance
• Helping identify recurring issues and supporting the move from reactive repairs towards planned preventive maintenance
• Sharing technical knowledge and supporting fellow team members with fault‑finding, safe working practices and equipment procedures

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on technical or engineering experience
• Previous hotel or resort engineering experience, ideally within a 5‑star luxury hospitality environment
• Recognised qualification or technical training in electrical, mechanical or a related trade
• Excellent practical electrical skills
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and general maintenance
• Practical plumbing experience
• Experience working with kitchen equipment, pumps and general property systems
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting ability
• Comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines rather than specialising in just one area
• A practical, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach
• Someone who genuinely enjoys being hands‑on and getting things fixed
