HR Programs and Projects Associate

About the role

Butterfield is seeking an HR Programs and Projects Associate to support and lead a range of human‑resources initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, you will help shape policies, drive projects, and ensure compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support all HR initiatives and lead special projects to improve employee experience and HR function.
• Oversee new‑hire onboarding, exit processes, and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies and procedures.
• Produce and analyse HR metrics to evaluate programmes and guide improvements.
• Manage the HR audit process and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
• Consult on employment activations such as internships, scholarships, graduate trainee programs, and long‑service awards.
• Lead recruitment for associated programmes where applicable.
• Oversee HR invoicing and ensure timely processing and payment.
• Track the HR budget in collaboration with the VP HR Bermuda.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of HR legislation, practices, and trends.
• Lead and mentor interns and graduate trainees, identifying additional mentors within the business.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably within financial services.
• Proven track record of leading HR projects across multiple disciplines.
• Strong collaboration skills with business heads to deliver HR programmes on schedule.
