Lead Ophthalmic Technician & Clinic Coordinator – Bermuda Relocation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Ophthalmic Technician & Clinic Coordinator to become the clinical backbone of a respected private ophthalmology practice in Hamilton, Bermuda. You will work closely with the Consultant Ophthalmologist, lead the clinical team, and ensure every patient receives exceptional care while enjoying an almost tax‑free salary and island lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, work‑ups and diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, biometry, ophthalmic imaging).
• Assist with intravitreal injections and minor ophthalmic procedures.
• Coordinate the full cataract surgery pathway from booking to post‑operative care.
• Provide clinical guidance to patients and support reception with clinical queries.
• Lead patient flow, manage equipment, supplies and medication stock.
• Mentor, train and support junior clinical staff.
• Develop clinical protocols and maintain high standards.
• Ensure accurate EMR documentation and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive ophthalmology experience in a senior role.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COA/COT) or Registered Nurse with significant ophthalmic experience.
• Proven experience assisting with intravitreal injections and cataract surgery coordination.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
