Principal – Supervision (Banking, Trust & Investment)

About the role

The Principal, Supervision will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the oversight of licensed financial institutions across banking, trust, corporate services and investment sectors. This remote position reports to the Assistant Director and shapes regulatory policy while ensuring compliance with multiple legislative acts.

Key responsibilities

• Direct on‑site and off‑site supervisory activities for licensed entities and groups.
• Conduct risk‑based analyses to develop annual supervisory plans and set minimum regulatory requirements.
• Monitor remediation progress and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
• Contribute to the development of industry‑wide regulatory policy.
• Allocate supervisory resources efficiently using risk‑based models.
• Manage team performance, development, and training.
• Liaise with domestic industry bodies and international supervisory authorities.
• Represent the organization at committees, seminars and conferences.
• Undertake special projects and duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 7 years of post‑graduate experience, including 3 years in a senior role within a financial regulator or banking/investment/trust sector.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply complex legal statutes and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and mentoring capabilities.
