Summer Intern, Underwriting – Bermuda

About the role

AIG is seeking a Summer Intern for its Underwriting team in Bermuda, focusing on Financial Lines or Excess Casualty. Over a 9‑week program (June 7 – August 6, 2027), you will gain hands‑on experience in risk evaluation, pricing, and client interaction while working alongside experienced underwriters and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Support evaluation and analysis of risks to determine appropriate coverage, terms, and pricing.
• Review underwriting submissions, financial information, loss history, and exposure data.
• Assist in preparing quotes, proposals, renewals, and other underwriting documentation.
• Collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal partners such as Claims, Actuarial, and Risk Engineering.
• Use data and analytical tools to support underwriting decisions and portfolio management.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, graduating no later than June 2028.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Global perspective and a track record of academic and extracurricular achievement.
