Science Education Coordinator

About the role

The Science Education Coordinator will lead marine‑science learning experiences for local and international students at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. Working closely with ASU BIOS scientists, educators, and operations staff, the role blends hands‑on teaching, program coordination, and field support.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Ocean Academy curriculum, including the Curriculum Enrichment Program, MARINE robotics, Climate Classroom, and other STEM initiatives.
• Design and facilitate immersive learning activities such as laboratory experiments, boating excursions, snorkeling, and technology‑enhanced sessions.
• Support Educational Expeditions for universities, high schools, middle schools, and lifelong‑learning groups.
• Manage program logistics, scheduling, participant communications, and educational records.
• Ensure safety and engagement during outdoor, boat, laboratory, and water‑based activities, including evenings and weekends.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree (any field) required.
• Entry‑level candidate with enthusiasm for marine science education.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather, on small boats, and in laboratory settings.
• Willingness to reside on the ASU BIOS campus or Bermuda’s east end.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate evenings and weekends.
