Secretary General (Executive Director)

About the role

The Bermuda Olympic Association (BOA) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as its Secretary General, acting as the executive director and chief administrative officer. Reporting to the Executive Board and working closely with the President, the role oversees day‑to‑day operations and drives the implementation of the Association’s strategic plan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the BOA’s approved Strategic Plan and translate Board priorities into actionable programmes.
• Manage staff, financial resources, risk and governance frameworks to ensure organisational accountability.
• Maintain strong relationships with athletes, national sports bodies, government, sponsors and international sporting organisations.
• Oversee BOA’s responsibilities for Team Bermuda’s participation in Olympic, Commonwealth, Pan‑American, Central American and Caribbean Games and other competitions.
• Ensure compliance with the BOA Constitution, the Olympic Charter and International Olympic Committee requirements.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership and management experience, including strategy, operations, staff and finance oversight.
• Proven ability to implement strategic plans and report performance to a governing board.
• Strong knowledge of governance, financial and risk management, and organisational accountability.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commitment to integrity, collaboration, athlete welfare and Olympic values.
