Senior Associate - Regulatory & Risk Advisory - Bermuda

About the role

Walkers is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Regulatory & Risk Advisory practice in Bermuda. The role involves providing high‑quality regulatory advice to magic‑circle firms and global financial institutions on a broad range of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on existing and emerging regulations affecting Bermuda, both domestic and international.
• Communicate regulatory updates and client alerts promptly.
• Collaborate with the practice group to deliver clear guidance on compliance, licensing, marketing restrictions and reporting requirements.
• Assist with regulatory enforcement matters, including exposure analysis, settlement negotiations, and defence of enforcement actions or court appeals.
• Provide technically sound, responsive advice and support to clients.
• Develop and expand client relationships while acting as a trusted resource.
• Uphold firm values, professional ethics and proactively resolve conflicts.
• Contribute to practice development through knowledge sharing, conference participation and internal training.

Required profile

• Bermuda‑qualified or Commonwealth lawyer with 3‑5 years post‑qualifying financial regulatory experience.
• Experience across regulatory areas such as AML/ATF, sanctions, licensing, cybersecurity, data privacy, anti‑bribery and cyber‑breach response.
• Knowledge of insurance, securities or digital‑asset sectors is advantageous.
• Strong academic record with international exposure.
• Ambitious, commercially driven with solid legal drafting and communication skills.
