Senior Underwriting Operations Technician

About the role

The Senior Underwriting Operations Technician will be based in Chaucer's Bermuda office and will support the Operations Business Partnering team. This senior position focuses on ensuring accurate data capture, processing, reporting and control across underwriting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the dedicated mailbox and respond to queries within SLA.
• Perform KPI and CRM monitoring, complete day‑book entries and wizard tasks.
• Attach slips in the main workflow system, enrich data and verify Charisma entries.
• Investigate anomalies, coordinate exception reports and liaise with Business Partners and Velonetic technicians.
• Maintain policy history, organise filing and support pricing model preparation.
• Prepare and distribute weekly operational reports and update procedure manuals.
• Assist underwriting teams with daily tasks, UAT support and ad‑hoc requests from senior operations leadership.
• Conduct analytics on premium, loss and commission estimates, identify variances and support underwriters in setting best estimates.
• Liaise with brokers, underwriters and treasury on letters of credit, verify collateral amounts and ensure compliance with Terms of Business Agreements.

Required profile

• Experienced insurance professional with a senior‑level background.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to identify operational improvements.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight SLA requirements.
• Proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders.
