Associate Relationship Manager

About the role

As an Associate Relationship Manager (Grade 5) you will work within HSBC's Institutional Portfolio Group to support Relationship Managers in building and deepening client relationships. You will act as the primary local point of contact for a subset of inbound institutional clients, ensuring smooth credit processes and proactive client engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Support IPG Relationship Managers to optimise client value, improve engagement and deliver needs‑based solutions.
• Act as first point of contact for assigned inbound clients, attending meetings and preparing analyses, proposals and presentations.
• Manage day‑to‑day client activity, including pipeline management, coordination with product partners and timely updates to data and call reports.
• Deliver financial, credit and profitability analysis and prepare credit, relationship strategy and risk presentations.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end credit processes with Service Delivery, review deliverables and resolve issues.
• Monitor credit risk using management information, apply risk escalation and ensure compliance with Global Standards, AML and sanctions alerts.

Required profile

• Experience supporting relationship‑management activity in a client‑focused environment.
• Ability to manage a subset of client relationships as a primary point of contact.
• Strong customer research skills to produce clear, well‑structured proposals and presentations.
• Proven ability to deliver financial, credit and profitability analysis to support decision‑making.
• Knowledge of regulatory, financial and legal requirements and consistent application of Group policy.
