Assistant Director of Rooms

About the role

Hilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda's only luxury urban resort, is hiring an Assistant Director of Rooms. Reporting to the Director of Rooms, the role covers the smooth operation of the Front Desk, Concierge, Royal Service, Fairmont Gold and Housekeeping departments, and sets the standard for guest service across them.

Key responsibilities

• Offer professional, proactive guest service and treat every guest as an individual, anticipating their needs
• Ensure the smooth operation of the Front Desk, Concierge, Royal Service, Fairmont Gold and Housekeeping departments
• Lead departments to consistently outstanding service, analysing trends, eliminating issues and researching root causes
• Recruit top talent through networking, recruiting and interviewing, and oversee training and performance management
• Take part in departmental and divisional meetings, and in the Service Excellence Committee, using SCORE and KIPSU platforms
• Manage departmental budgets (revenue and expenses) and handle Birch Street approvals
• Know the hotel's crisis and emergency procedures and maintain a safe, hazard-free workplace, following Health and Safety guidelines

Required profile

• At least 4 years as a senior leader in Rooms Division at a large, high-volume luxury hotel or resort
• Direct experience in front office operations
• Experience in a luxury, unionized work environment
• University degree preferred, preferably in Hospitality Management
• Able to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and execute complex plans
• Excellent communication skills; second language proficiency is a plus
