Principal, Supervision (Banking, Trust, Corporate Services & Investment)

About the role

The Principal, Supervision will lead a team of professionals responsible for supervising and regulating licensed financial institutions across banking, trust, corporate services and investment sectors. This senior position reports to the Assistant Director and shapes regulatory policy and risk‑based supervision strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site and off‑site supervisory activities for licensed institutions and groups.
• Conduct risk‑based analyses to develop annual supervisory plans and set minimum regulatory requirements.
• Monitor remediation progress and ensure issues identified are resolved.
• Contribute to the development of regulatory policy for the broader financial services industry.
• Apply risk‑based models to allocate supervisory resources efficiently.
• Ensure the supervisory team meets agreed objectives and performance targets.
• Manage staff performance, development and training.
• Liaise with domestic industry bodies and international supervisory authorities.
• Represent the organization on committees, seminars and conferences.
• Undertake special projects and related duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field, or Bachelor’s degree with a professional designation (CA, CPA, CFA, FRM, ACIS, FCI, TEP).
• Minimum seven years of post‑graduate experience, including at least three years at a senior level within a financial regulator or banking/investment/trust sector.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, risk management frameworks and corporate governance.
• Ability to interpret and apply legal statutes, regulations and industry guidelines.
• Proven leadership, people‑management and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of international regulatory standards and related systems.
