Principal, Supervision (Banking, Trust, Corporate Services & Investment)

About the role

The Principal, Supervision will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for overseeing licensed financial institutions across banking, trust, corporate services and investment sectors. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the role ensures regulatory compliance with multiple legislative acts and drives risk‑based supervisory strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Direct on‑site and off‑site supervisory activities for licensed entities and groups.
• Develop annual supervisory plans based on risk‑based analyses and set minimum regulatory requirements.
• Monitor remediation progress and ensure timely resolution of supervisory findings.
• Contribute to the formulation of regulatory policy for the broader financial services industry.
• Allocate supervisory resources efficiently using risk‑based models.
• Manage team performance, development, and training.
• Liaise with domestic industry bodies and international supervisory authorities.
• Represent the organization on committees, seminars and conferences.
• Undertake special projects and duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field, or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least seven years of post‑graduate experience, including three years in a senior regulatory or banking‑investment‑trust role.
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, risk management frameworks and corporate governance.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply legal statutes and regulatory guidelines.
• Excellent leadership, people‑management and communication skills.
