Senior Analyst – Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join Hannover Re’s newly created Capital Partners team, focusing on Insurance‑Linked Securities (ILS). Reporting to the Head of Capital & Underwriting, you will play a pivotal role in portfolio analytics, reporting and system development within our ILS business.

Key responsibilities

• Produce portfolio insights, including TVaR calculations and marginal impact assessments.
• Develop, maintain and operate financial models supporting portfolio targets.
• Translate portfolio targets into origination signals and support trade execution through analysis and validation.
• Ensure data reconciliation and suitability for analytical use.
• Assist with event‑response analysis, loss estimates and portfolio impact assessments.
• Prepare ad‑hoc and recurring investor reports and contribute to investor presentation decks.
• Design and implement improvements to portfolio systems, workflows and automation tools.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance departmental efficiency and perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, computer science or a related field.
• Minimum five years of actuarial or catastrophe‑modelling analytics experience in ILS, reinsurance, asset management or a related area.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and proactive learning attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and build relationships at all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Proficiency in coding languages such as C#, Python and SQL.
• Experience working with large databases.
