Assistant Chief Steward

About the role

Fairmont Southampton is seeking an Assistant Chief Steward to support the daily operations of its Stewarding Department. Reporting to the Executive Chief Steward, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational readiness across all food and beverage areas of the resort.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily stewarding activities, ensuring dishware, glassware, silverware, cookware and kitchen equipment are cleaned, sanitized and stored according to standards.
• Support hygiene and sanitation compliance with local regulations, HACCP requirements and Accor/Fairmont standards.
• Monitor work areas for cleanliness, organization and operational efficiency.
• Help manage stewarding staff, inventory control, equipment maintenance and event set‑up activities.
• Contribute to maintaining luxury service standards and operational efficiency throughout the resort.

Required profile

• Ability to support daily stewarding operations in a luxury hotel environment.
• Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and HACCP standards.
• Experience working with inventory, equipment maintenance and event set‑up.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
