About the role
Aon Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd. is seeking an experienced AVP Risk and Compliance Executive to support the Chief Compliance Officer. The role provides compliance, governance and risk frameworks for licensed insurance managers, broking, agent and insurance entities, ensuring alignment with Aon group requirements and local legal obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure Aon entities in Bermuda comply with all applicable laws, focusing on the Insurance Act 1978, Proceeds of Crime Act 1997, privacy legislation and relevant codes of conduct, and assess the impact of legislative changes.
- Prepare and oversee key compliance policies and procedures, including governance manuals, risk management frameworks, financial‑crime controls, trade sanctions and compliance assurance plans.
- Implement, test and monitor key compliance controls and measure adherence to internal policies.
- Draft and present compliance data, actions and results to the Board of Directors and relevant committees.
- Facilitate and conduct staff training on regulatory compliance topics.
- Coordinate and remediate regulatory and internal audit reviews, including AML/ATF and prudential examinations.
Required profile
- Legal degree, accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, etc.) or equivalent professional regulatory qualification.
- Certified Anti‑Money‑Laundering Specialist or an internationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a large global organisation, preferably within (re)insurance, regulatory bodies or insurance management, broking and agency environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing risk and control frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the Insurance Act and related codes of conduct (preferable).
- High digital literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
