Lead Accountant – Bermuda

About the role

Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Cruises Bermuda entity is seeking a Lead Accountant to establish and direct accounting operations for its Bermuda business while supporting the Basel, Switzerland office. This full‑time, on‑site role reports to the President of Celebrity River Cruises and plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for Bermuda operations and support Basel accounting activities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals and balance‑sheet substantiation.
• Coordinate statutory reporting and local compliance for the Basel office.
• Oversee vendor payments, banking administration, cash management, treasury and payroll accounting.
• Lead annual audit preparation and act as primary liaison with external auditors.
• Develop scalable accounting processes and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Partner with leadership in Bermuda and Basel on budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Treasury, Legal and Tax teams on entity setup, employee onboarding and ongoing compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional designation such as CPA, ACCA or CA preferred.
• 6‑8 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi‑jurisdictional environments.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, audits, internal controls and statutory compliance.
