Audit Manager - Insurance (FSO)

About the role

EY's Financial Services Office (FSO) is hiring an Audit Manager for its Insurance team in Bermuda. The FSO works with multi-disciplinary teams worldwide to serve clients in areas such as asset management, private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance. As an Audit Manager you will help clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and giving insight into accounting and reporting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Balance time between managing a team of assurance professionals across a portfolio of projects and personally engaging with clients.
• Perform complex and specific audit procedures while developing effective, client-focused audit strategies.
• Coach and manage a team of audit professionals, giving them the information, tools and opportunities to grow.
• Build relationships that support tailored services and contribute to new business development.
• Identify and react to potential risks and develop improvements to products and processes that promote growth and revenue.
• Keep up with business trends and emerging technologies to act as a trusted business advisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
• At least five years of work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm, ideally with insurance clients (property and casualty, reinsurance, life, health or captives).
• An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACA or ACCA, or equivalent.
• Ability to prioritize when managing multiple projects at once, and to communicate and negotiate effectively.
• Flexibility to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Engagement management, execution and reporting skills.
• Ideally, knowledge of current market issues in the insurance sector.
