AVP Actuary – Bermuda Financial Risk

About the role

MetLife is seeking an Assistant Vice President Actuary to lead financial risk management for its Bermuda captive reinsurance business. Based in Hamilton with hybrid flexibility, the role combines strategic coordination with hands‑on analysis of capital, asset‑liability, credit and pricing risks.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with shared resources to capture, manage and report interest‑rate, equity, counter‑party credit, pricing, insurance and model risks for Bermuda reinsurance.
• Apply the Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirement (BSCR), Economic Capital, Asset‑Liability Management (ALM) and Global Investment Assumption Committee frameworks to risk assessments.
• Enhance quarterly BSCR ratio stress‑testing and use results for capital, credit, FX and insurance risk management.
• Manage the agenda and deliverables of the Bermuda financial risk working group.
• Develop close working relationships with internal partners, including Reinsurance and other risk functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial risk analysis within a reinsurance or insurance environment.
• Strong understanding of Bermuda regulatory requirements and capital frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups and present findings to senior leadership.
