Director, Learning

About the role

Join Fairmont Southampton as the Director, Learning and lead the strategic planning, design, execution and evaluation of all learning and development initiatives. You will ensure colleagues at every level have access to high‑quality training, career pathways and professional growth while fostering a culture of continuous learning and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the resort’s Learning & Development strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Conduct annual Learning Needs Analyses and build a structured annual learning plan covering mandatory, brand, operational, service, leadership, and compliance training.
• Design, develop and deliver blended training programs, including classroom, on‑the‑job, e‑learning and coaching.
• Lead new‑hire onboarding, orientation and early‑tenure programs to boost engagement and retention.
• Support leadership capability through coaching, workshops and succession planning.
• Monitor compliance training, evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve learning initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years progressive experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of adult‑learning principles, instructional design and facilitation.
• Excellent communication, organization and project‑planning abilities with high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to work collaboratively with department heads and external partners.
