Director, Spa

About the role

Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda's largest resort, is recruiting a Director, Spa. Reporting to the Director, Leisure & Recreation, the role provides strategic leadership and oversight of the spa's overall operation, driving operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction and team engagement while delivering a world-class wellness experience aligned with Fairmont and Accor luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for all spa operations, services and programming, and develop and execute the spa's business plan
• Lead and develop the spa leadership team and colleagues
• Deliver a personalized guest experience and uphold Fairmont luxury standards across all touchpoints
• Oversee daily operations including treatments, retail, fitness and wellness facilities, and manage budgets, revenue generation, cost controls and profitability
• Analyse performance metrics and implement strategies to improve revenue and efficiency
• Recruit, train, coach and mentor staff, manage staffing levels, scheduling and payroll, and foster an inclusive, performance-driven environment
• Collaborate with hotel departments, represent the spa at industry events and support marketing initiatives and wellness events
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and regulatory standards, and maintain facility standards and equipment upkeep
• Drive resort and spa membership programmes, including sales, member events and engagement

Required profile

• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive spa leadership experience, preferably in luxury hospitality or resort environments
• Proven experience managing large-scale spa operations and teams
• Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business, Wellness Management or a related field preferred
• Professional spa or wellness certifications are an asset
• Ability to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays, and to be present in operational areas

• Business acumen with the ability to analyse financial and operational data
• In-depth knowledge of spa operations, wellness trends, treatments and guest service standards
• Leadership, communication and organizational skills
